The Schoolhouse

The converted Schoolhouse is a self-catering property at the top of the village, near the island's Churches, with a large well-kept garden and an outside covered veranda.

Inside you will find a large and very comfortable sitting room which is tastefully furnished, including a double sofabed, and an open log burning fire in addition to the storage heaters. There is also a double bedroom.

The kitchen is well equipped with cooking utensils, crockery and cutlery, a fridge with freezer compartment, microwave and a two-ring table top cooker; a washing machine has recently been installed. There is a shower and wc.

Please remember there are no food shops on Caldey so you will need to bring supplies with you. A torch is essential if you intend walking on the island after dark. Well behaved pets are welcome in the Schoolhouse.

We are grateful for a donation towards the cost of your stay in the Schoolhouse, our guidelines for 2010 are -

January & February : £200 per week

March, April & May : £225 per week

June, July & August : £250 per week

September & October : £225 per week

November & December : £200 per week

The Schoolhouse is available for retreats all year except throughout the Christmas season, and the maximum length of stay is two weeks a year. From the beginning of September 2011 the Schoolhouse will no longer be available for retreats. Please see the Information and Contact pages.
